Apple Music Is Reportedly Suing TIDAL Over Drake

Apple Music has declared war on TIDAL over Drake’s appearance in a Lil Wayne charity concert benefiting kids affected by Hurricane Katrina. According to the lawsuit, TIDAL faces a $20 million USD lawsuit if it streamed Drake’s two song performance from the concert. The concert in question was Lil Wayne’s stop at New Orleans for his Lil WayneAna Fest Friday night, which benefits The Carter Fund supporting after-school programs in Louisiana.

Drake has a reported $19 million USD deal with Apple Music as one of the artists helping to launch its service, with exclusive album releases and his role as a guest DJ for Beats 1 Radio. Sources say that Jay Z’s TIDAL had no choice but to cut out Drake’s part in the performance, but still planned on putting up notice blaming Apple Music’s role in the interruption.
