Paul Smith x Caran D’Ache 849 Pen Collection

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of historic Swiss stationary company Caran D’Ache is a range of collaborations. In for the fun, British designer Paul Smith recreated Caran D’Ache’s iconic 849 pen in ten different pastel colors. Introduced in 1969, the ballpoint pen features a hexagonal shape and is a result of industrial and ergonomic design principles of the era, making the pen beyond its time. Presented in a matching slim case, head over to CaranDache.com to learn more.

Quote x Peter O’Toole x adidas Originals Consortium ZX420 “Quotool”

Having first met, digitally that is, back in 2005 on the Crooked Tongues forum, freelance illustrator Peter O’Toole and renowned adidas collector Quote first collaborated in 2011 on a poster that illustrated a small, albeit relatively large portion of Quote’s personal collection. Intrigued by their creativity and devotion, adidas Originals commissioned the duo to produce a book of illustrations and descriptions to each. At the end, the shoemaker rewarded the two with a visit to the adidas archive in Herzogenaurach as well as the opportunity to design their very own sneaker to accompany the book release. The result is the adidas Originals Consortium ZX420 “Quotool” pictured above, inspired by a particular pair of vintage adidas Denvers from Quote’s collection.

Both the book – Quote’s Archive – and the ZX420 “Quotool” will be available at select adidas Consortium stores starting November 15, with a special pre-release launch at No.74 Berlin on October 25.
