Facebook Announces It Will Alert You When the Government Hacks Your Profile

Agent Mulder famously suggested that the government was watching us over a decade ago. But in 2013, Edward Snowden brought attention to the topic and hit a lot closer to home than the conspiracy theories of The X-Files. In a recent announcement by Facebook, if your account on the social media site is under threat of a breach caused by a “government-sponsored” hack, you will be notified. In a statement from Facebook’s Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos, he explains: “We do this because these types of attacks tend to be more advanced and dangerous than others, and we strongly encourage affected people to take the actions necessary to secure all of their online accounts.” Although critics may suggest that this measure is excessive, this is undoubtedly a big move for Facebook and could lead the way for similar security additions for other social media sites in the future. Apple Fanatics Queue at colette for the Launch of the Apple Watch

People reportedly started queuing up at 3 p.m. yesterday without even having a guarantee that the product would be available once the store opened. Other stores that will have the Watch today include Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo, Maxfield in Los Angeles and The Corner in Berlin.
