A Behind the Scenes Look at the Making of London’s Sonos Studio

Following in the footsteps of Los Angeles’ Sonos Studios, the recently opened London locale provides an immersive setting that melds music, art and technology. Studio head Tom Panton explains that London was a natural fit for the new space due to its illustrious influence on music. Collaborating with London-based design consultancy Brinkworth, the team remodeled a former print works warehouse by preserving the architectural integrity and revamping the interior to provide a state-of-the-art listening experience. In addition, visual references to music history are provided throughout the building, including Abbey Road’s blue color palette and the infamous bathroom tiling at American-based Stax Records. Digital Photography Company VSCO Announces $40 Million Investment

Longstanding digital photography company, VSCO made an official announcement today that it has received an investment of $40 million from venture and growth equity firm Accel Partners. Since its inception, VSCO has not only been servicing the App market quite heavily, but it also sees a majority of its loyalists come from the desktop side “VSCO Film” – the company’s film/analog emulation software extensions for Lightroom and Photoshop.

In addition to its film software and successful digital App, VSCO is also passionate about the bigger picture of inspiring creativity and building out a community for photography enthusiasts. It runs a successful Journal component to its brand, a “Grid” social community as well as a plethora of collaborations, brand partnerships and editorial partnerships. VSCO currently holds 43 employees that operate out of its Oakland, California, offices. Speaking on the investment, Greg Lutze (who co-founded VSCO alongside partner Joel Flory) stated, “We are working to create a new digital age of creativity. We built something we wanted to use ourselves.”
