As a continuation to Porter‘s already strong collection of present year collaborations, the specialist Japanese luggage manufacturer has teamed up with premium Italian label Stone Island to offer a fall/winter capsule across three of it’s most noticeable silhouettes. Slated as a continuation to Porter’s 80th anniversary commemorative endeavors, the latest Stone Island collaboration has been constructed from a brushed metallic, polyurethane resin coated cotton and features the Helmet Bag, Rucksack and Briefcase. Retaining the usual plethora of adjustable components and zippered compartments, each piece gazettes a black and silver palette with classically styled embroidered patches attached to the lower left panels. ‘Becoming Marni’ Exhibit Celebrating the Brand’s 20th Anniversary
Marni‘s 20th anniversary is a cause for celebration, and the brand is celebrating by hosting a series of events as a part of the 56th annual Venice Biennale. Occupying the elusive San Gregorio Abbey, doors are open to the public with Becoming Marni, an exhibition that includes 100 wooden sculptures by Brazilian artist Véio. The sculptures examine the Italian label’s evolving identity, touching upon its use of colors and shapes that have marked Marni’s style. Conceived by Carolina Gastiglioni, creative director of Marni’s special projects and curated by Stefano Rabolli Pansera, architect and founder of curatorial agency Beyond Entropy Ltd., the show walks you through from outside to inside, which includes a cloister housing Véio’s workshop where he can create artwork on site.
