Classical music covers of popular songs are a wonderful thing. The latest video to surface shows a traditional Japanese rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal, performed by professional shakuhachi (a Japanese bamboo flute) player Yuko Watanabe along with two backup performers on a koto (a stringed instrument, also the national instrument of Japan).

Handcrafted in Japan from 100% raw, undyed leather, the low-top kicks feature paneled uppers, leather laces and hand-stamped logos, along with replaceable soles that ensure years of use. The silhouette’s raw leather uppers, meanwhile, will darken with wear and develop a unique patina over time, further distinguishing the design from its industrially-produced counterparts.
