The 27-year old Brit first turned heads as a backup dancer for Kylie Minogue and Jessie J, but is now known as a singer-songwriter and producer with a distinct flair for evocative music and equally haunting music videos. In PAPER Magazine’s latest issue, FKA twigs gives her perspective on the publication’s theme of Nowstalgia, or how “the past continually informs the present.” As she discusses incorporating vogue culture into her “Glass & Patron” music video, she talks about Björk as an inspiration and being obsessed with Marlon Brando. Kanye West vs. Sam Smith – Tell Me I’m Not The Only One (Carlos Serrano Remix)
A Kanye West and Sam Smith collaboration would be pretty epic. But it hasn’t happened yet. For now, fans can enjoy a new mashup by Carlos Serrano. His latest mix features West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” vocals over the piano-driven melody from Smith’s recent hit, “Tell Me I’m the One.” Serrano also inserted Smith’s silky-smooth chorus onto the song, forming a mashup masterpiece. Maybe, these two will link in the studio one day, but until then check out Serrano’s blend above.
