As a silhouette that commonly presides within the “grey zone” of trending sneaker topics, Puma‘s latest Disc Blaze offering has helped move the design into a realm of highly collectible sneakers with the help of Japanese style purveyors UNITED ARROWS & SONS. Aiding the collaboration is fellow Japanese design house 5525gallery whom of which helped facilitate one of many in-store releases for the shoe. Rendered to be mostly monochromatic, the shoe’s toe box has been constructed from a contrasting, hard-wash denim fabric while the components leading back towards the heel counter are wholly monochromatic in a variety of sport and luxury fabrics. The design’s signature no-lace system secures scale textured overlays and adds to the tonal palette that enhances the prominence of the toe box in the overall design. Each respective heel tab bears embossed branding of the shoe’s various collaborative partners, with similar detailing extending through to a branded insole.
