The latest news surrounding the world of streaming music is Beats Music’s approach to pay artists for exclusive streaming rights. Artists such as Taylor Swift and Florence and the Machine could be tempted to sign deals worth millions in support of this new digital music initiative. TIDAL is using a similar tactic, offering artists up to $3 million USD and 3 percent of the company in exchange for their exclusive content. Bloomberg has reported that Beats Music is set to offer the service of standard quality audio at the price of $9.99 USD a month ($120 USD a year), four times the average person’s expenditure in iTunes.
