Director F. Gary Gray has released the trailer for his upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, documenting the rap group’s rise and impact in the world of hip-hop. Often touted as one of the seminal acts of rap music, the gangster rap collective — consisting of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, DJ Yella and MC Ren — challenged the boundaries of lyrical content, changing the scope of the industry in many ways. Produced by members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, the film is set to premiere this summer.
