From designer Tsung Chih-Hsien comes this 2014 Red Dot Design Award-winning cardboard phone-charging battery. Called Mini Power, these tablet-like batteries are sold in strips and come in configurations of two, four or six-hour capacities. Once used, the batteries can be recharged or even recycled at any convenience store that stocks them. Utilizing paper battery technology, Mini Power is perfect for emergency use and for smartphone users who have forgone traditional external batteries for their unwieldy bulk. Although it’s in concept stage at this point, Mini Power stands as a testament to the increasingly creative ways in which external charging technologies are evolving.
