La Boca has carved out a niche for itself creating covers for books and records, and film posters that have gone on to win the independent London studio numerous industry accolades. From the Screen Awards, to the Annual Design Awards to the Cannes Lions to the British Book Awards, La Boca, based in Notting Hill, has proven itself as a pro in the world of commercial design, racking up a client list that includes film production giants like 20th Century Fox, publishers Vintage, as well as brands like Nike. The studio creates film posters that could easily be from another time, eschewing overly retouched studio photography in favour of bold, block-coloured illustration, and book covers, like these Aldous Huxley paperbacks for Vintage, that blend vintage typography with abstract forms and recall the era from which they came.

Thomas Prior is one of those sneaky names who first crept onto our radar with a stunning series documenting a firework fight in Tultepec, Mexico, and has since reappeared at six-monthly intervals with new and ever more adventurous projects from around the world. There was February last year, for example, when he photographed the YouTube awards for Vice magazine, and then a few months later he cropped up again with this brilliant series of images taken in Greece and Turkey for Afar magazine.
