This identity for the National Theatre Mannheim in Germany is full of comic book pow and reminds me of lairy cleaning products that demand attention. Created by Berlin-based studio formdusche for the 18th International Schillertage 2015, a festival of the arts the theatre held over nine days, the identity is blends yellow, red and blue cartoon references to create an impactful and confident identity. I love the loudness and slight cheesiness, and it’s great to see a theatre embrace such a boisterous design. With programmes, pamphlets, posters and outdoor advertising, it’s hard to ignore the punchy type and slabs of colour combined with playful slogans.
