Welcome to a modern open-layout apartment located in the Pole Mokotoskie Park neighborhood of Warsaw. The owners of this 150 square-meter crib wanted their home to reflect an independent way of thinking. They shared some photos of American lofts and remodeled European tenement house apartments with the design team at Soma Architekci. Since it wasn’t their first home, the owners also wanted to keep some precious furniture units from their previous living space. The comfortable purple bedroom bed and the blue living room sofa needed to be the essential part of new-industrial design scheme.
The apartment consists of a spacious open-plan living and dining room, separate kitchen, two bathrooms, bedroom and home office. Austere materials were employed for the design: solid concrete, exposed white brick, rough oak flooring and cold white and grey colors. All the furniture was custom made from natural materials; just have a look at the steel book-stand, coffee table in concrete, aluminum chairs and lighting decorations. But despite this sober combination of materials, the place looks like a nice retreat at the end of the day, at least from our end.
