A Rare Selection of Basketball Memorabilia Will Be up for Auction

SCP Auctions has just unveiled the lot selection for its upcoming 2015 Fall Premier Auction. From rare basketball cards to player jerseys to signed basketballs, the offering presents an enticing range of items key to every collector’s set. Some standouts in the set include a mid-late 1980’s Chicago Bulls trio of Charles Oakley, Horace Grant and John Paxson signed pairs of game-worn shoes; a signed pair of Air Jordan 12 sneakers worn by the Jumpan himself during a 1996 Bulls vs. Suns game; and a pair of signed LeBron 9.5 shoes. With the auction ending in 16 days, you should definitely get a head start on bidding if you’re interested in securing an item as some sneakers are already reaching the $2,500 USD mark. McLaren Unveils Its 986 Horsepower P1 GTR

Ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Auto Show, McLaren releases details regarding its P1 GTR supercar. Based on McLaren’s million-dollar flagship model, the GTR ‘skirts’ pass with a long list of upgrades that make it better suited for a closed circuit than local roads. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain features an internal combustion engine cranking out 789 horsepower and an electric motor adding another 197 for a combined output of 986 hp.  To optimize the power-to-weight ratio, the automaker introduced a carbon fiber roof and engine cover, plexiglass side windows, and a new Inconel and titanium alloy exhaust, all of which results in a 110-pound reduction.
