For those who are itching for vintage sports car aesthetic, performance and heritage, German automaker Porsche is the definitive answer. Owner Grant Karnes believes this and thus displays his love for the brand with his 1979 930 Turbo, in luscious silver with custom historical magnetic livery. The car is tuned with new headers, exhaust, upgraded K27 turbo and wastegate, while maintaining a stock intercooler — a rare un-tune commonly left for “purists” — and with very little done to the exterior design and aerodynamics. The result is an immaculate example of a once-iconic-now-legendary version of the Porsche 911 that enthusiasts are all clamoring to get their hands on before they become completely extinct. adidas Originals by NIGO 2015 Spring/Summer City Marathon PT
As a part of adidas Originals’ ongoing relationship with the legendary NIGO, here the partnership has birthed a new version of the oft-overlooked City Marathon PT silhouette. NIGO dug through adidas’ running archives to uncover this ’90s favorite, which is here offered in a smooth Saturday-ready combination of primary red and blue suede and mesh. Perforated around the toebox, the sneaker features breathable mesh at the front and medial sides, while the whole upper rests atop a cushioned midsole and grippy outsole. The sneaker is touched off with a commemorative “25” patch at the heel, indicating NIGO’s name in Japanese phonetically – “Ni-” being “2” and “-go” being “5”. Check out this version of the City Marathon PT at adidas Originals retailers in Japan now, with a stateside release likely following soon.
