Mike Dean – White Black Jesus

Mike Dean’s CV is undeniable. Though known of late as one of the key contributors to Kanye West’s creative team — Dean contributed to the mixes of both The College Dropout and Late Registration before acting as a producer for Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch The Throne, Cruel Summer and Yeezus — Dean has been at it since the ’80s, working as Selena’s musical director before pioneering the Dirty South sound of the 1990s. Now a bonafide legend, Dean has been contributing to some of the most high-profile records of the past year, including A$AP Rocky’s At.Long.Last.A$AP, Travis Scott’s Rodeo, Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness.

So, what better way to kick off a new producer-centric series than by linking up with one of the most crucial musical polymaths around? That’s exactly what our compadres over at HYPETRAK have done with the first installment of “HT Beats.” Check out the slick “White Black Jesus” above and stay tuned for more entries in the “HT Beats” series.

Shades of Grey 2014 Spring/Summer Collection

One of a handful of designers blurring the lines between classic menswear and more contemporary street influences, Micah Cohen returns for Spring/Summer 2014 with another strong showing for Shades of Grey. Cohen’s latest collection, in particular, shows a knack for staying relevant with a mix of athletic-influenced designs and more tailored pieces like blazers in speckled tweed. Standouts include a cotton baseball jersey, fleece and nylon baseball jacket, a colorblocked bomber style and paneled knit lounge pants that work equally well on the street or at the gym. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection from Shades of Grey is available now at the HYPEBEAST Store.
