Dior Introduces Virtual Reality Headset for Backstage Access

Unexpectedly, Dior has entered the virtual reality market with its own custom-branded virtual reality headsets. The French fashion house has aptly named this foray “Dior Eyes,” which is expected to offer an immersive experience that includes integrated headphones, giving the user unprecedented access to Dior’s backstage during fashion shows. The device allows the user to see everything, from make-up to wardrobe changes. Although virtual reality headsets are not a new innovation with a crowding market including Samsung, Oculus Rift and Sony, Dior’s involvement marks a surprisingly swift adoption of technology from the fashion realm. If the venture works out, we’ll likely see wide adoption of the technology, which will definitely offer a unique backstage experience for both the public and press.
