Portrait of an Artist: Felipe Pantone (Video)

Felipe Pantone is a contemporary, kinetic and graffiti artist whose work is heavily influenced by technology and the internet. The Valencia-based Argentinian and Spanish artist uses a mix of geometric shapes, glitch imagery, stereodynamica, 3-D shapes, unique composition and vivid colors in bright contrast in a variety of mixed medium for his murals, street graffiti and paintings. He’s also known for dabbling in kinetic art — something that creates movement and evokes hyperactivity. Australian filmmaker Selina Miles shot, directed and edited the energetic short film about the artist, found above. Pantone’s upcoming solo exhibition “Stereodynamica” will be held at Backwoods Gallery in Melbourne, Australia October 16-25.

OTH x adidas Consortium Tubular Moc Runner

For its latest collaborative endeavor, Canada’s OTH has been tapped by adidas Originals to craft its own take on the Tubular Moc Runner for a Consortium release. Opting for a nod to Canadian heritage, the kicks come inspired by the Voyageurs — French Canadian tradesmen of the 18th and early 19th centuries that earned their title by traveling extensively between far-flung Native American communities and trading posts. The result is a moccasin-like sneaker that pairs premium black leather with woolen paneling, moc-toe stitching, two sets of a laces, and a unique split-tongue. Capping off the aesthetic are custom insoles that recall the treacherous wintertime lake-crossing expeditions of the tradesmen.

The OTH x adidas Consortium Tubular Moc Runner will be available in limited quantities both in-store and online beginning this Friday, April 17.
