Breathtaking 4k Timelapse Video of America’s Southwest

In May 2015 Julain Tryba and Michael Sutton traveled and documented a three-week trip across the American Southwest to film their passion project, titled “Timeless Dreams.” Along with Tryba’s girlfriend the group of three drove 3,000 miles through Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California, exploring the incredible natural landscapes of monumental canyons and star-studded skies. “Timeless Dreams” was shot by a Canon 1Dc, a Canon 5D MKIII, a Canon 6D and a Canon 7D, and is comprised of 4k layer-lapse video footage — a technique in film used to show different regions of a scene at different points in time. Julain Tryba edited the film with imagery of outer space courtesy of NASA, and paired the film with Kygo’s remix of “Wait” by M83. Stay tuned for an additional film to be released with the remaining time-lapse footage.

As a nod to the brand’s year in Belgium, Opening Ceremony has teamed up with the Magritte Foundation to create a collection of “wearable art” as a nod to one of the country’s greatest artists: René Magritte. Using the Vans Authentic as a canvas, the footwear collection displays classic Magritte pieces of surrealism, including The Blow to the Heart, Good Connections, The Ladder of Fire, Sheherazade, and The King’s Museum. All five pairs are available to pre-order online now and are set for a release this May.
