The Broad Museum Opens in Los Angeles

Los Angeles welcomes the newest addition to its vast contemporary art scene with the opening of The Broad Museum. Located downtown, the two-floor, 120,000-square-foot space was commissioned by Eli and Edythe Broad and is LA’s second wealthiest museum after The Getty with its $140 million USD showcase and 2,000+ piece collection, which includes Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama‘s famous Infinity Mirrored Room. The museum was designed by New York architecture firm diller scofidio + renfro — the design house also responsible for Manhattan’s High Line. The Broad is now open to the public with free general admission.
