As a nod to university athletics, the timeless Stan Smith has been given a makeover by adidas Originals. Dubbed the “College Pennant” pack and coinciding with the start of college football season, the release mimics the look of the celebratory pennants that used to decorate dorm rooms across American college campuses and replaces the shoe’s usual leather construction with suede while felt-like detailing handles the silhouette’s signature heel tab. Finally, taking the pennant-inspired detailing a step further is “Stan Smith” script across the back of the left and right shoes in place of the usual Trefoil.
Featuring orange and gold colorways to go alongside the navy pair that popped up last month, the “College Pennant” pack is out now at select adidas Originals retailers worldwide.
