A collaborative effort between two groundbreaking artists in their own respective realms, Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air has teamed up with Venezuelan-via-London producer and Yeezus-collaborator Arca on an immersive audio and visual repertoire. This production is a cut from the duo’s forthcoming album, Wench. While little has surface on who’ll be feature on the album and its release date, the 15 minute video directed by Jesse Kanda above, provides a glimpse to what the project will hold. A cohesive blend of samples from modern hit records by Fatboy Slim, Cher , t.A.T.U., Arthur Russell and Cher, lyrics are distorted in distinctly melancholic ways and complements a hypnotically bizarre footage of buildings crumbling and bridges in flames. Projected at this season’s New York Fashion Week, the piece is the duo’s first harvest from their esoteric project.
