Nike 2015 Fall/Winter Therma-Sphere Max Lookbook

Nike introduces a range of heat-regulating pieces for the upcoming winter, helping athletes focus on performance rather than thermoregulation, the body’s way of maintaining its internal temperature during inclement weather conditions. “When an athlete trains in cold temperatures without appropriate apparel, the body strives harder to maintain thermal balance, which impairs performance. The goal of our research team is to provide scientific insights to the apparel development team so they can create innovative solutions that help athlete performance, perception and protection.” says Barry Spiering, the Director of Applied Apparel Research for the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab. Each piece in the collection features a three-layer composite material designed to keep the wearer warm, comfortable and dry — all while maintaining style and still being lightweight.

The star of the release is the training jacket, which was two years in the making. It boasts lightweight warmth and supreme mobility, offering a tailored fit and Nike Sphere raised-node technology in the back to trap warm air close to the body — much like a wetsuit.
