A LeBron James Sponsored Tweet Could Cost $140,000 USD

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, a sponsored tweet sent by NBA star LeBron James costs $1,000 USD per character. The exact value of a tweet sent by the Cleveland Cavaliers star, $139,474 according to Opendorse, outstrips updates from fellow basketball superstars Kevin Durant ($66,553 USD) and Kobe Bryant ($42,389 USD) by a huge margin. “We’re basically saying that the value of one LeBron tweet is worth $140,000,” Opendorse CEO Blake Lawrence explained Rovell. “And with that, you will reach 23 million people. It would cost you five times more to reach that many people with a TV ad.” Follow LeBron on Twitter here and see if you can spot the lucrative 140 character outbursts.
