Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer collection for 2016, presented in Paris this weekend, comes via inspiration from much further afield in Japan. Soundtracked by Yo-Yo Ma playiong Ennio Morricone film scores and featuring models wearing Klaus Nomi makeup, round glasses traditional wooden geta sandals, Browne’s latest output incorporated ornate fabrics adorned with Japanese-inspired motifs. Pinstripe, houndstooth, herringbone and seersucker garments were all present in a showing of performance art that featured four models dressed as Geisha.
