In anticipation of tomorrow’s coveted Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Chicago” release, we take a closer look at one of Jordan’s most defining signature models. Revered for its historical background and presence across the sporting world, the timeless Chicago Bulls-inspired colorway of Michael Jordan’s seminal tenure with the team marks its return to celebrate Jordan Brand’s 30th Anniversary. Having transitioned away from the court and into a more fashion-forward clientele base, our selection of on and off court photographs shows that the shoe’s original purpose is still very much at the heart of its design. Rendered from a paneled leather upper, the shoe features perforated detailing around the toe box for added breathability and the flexible functionality required for sporting performance. In accordance with the characteristics that came to define this infamous model, Jordan has omitted the Jumpman heel logo, as this was a mark only introduced onward from the Jordan III. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Chicago” will be available to purchase directly from Nike for $160 USD on May 30 at 10 a.m. EDT.
