Carhartt WIP’s ‘Öctagon’ Experimental Skate Video Debuts Online

After teasing the piece over the past month, here Carhartt WIP unveils the full-length version of its experimental skate video – Öctagon for our viewing pleasure. Diverging from the traditional format of skate videos (introduction, parts, montage, etc.), the Joaquim Bayle-directed feature is built on avant-garde cinematography, infusing tech-apocalyptic motion graphics throughout skating by WIP riders such as Sylvain Tognelli, Bram De Cleen and Joseph Biais. At the heart of the film though is a sense of pure irreverence and rebellion, a motif that not only undercuts the visual identity of the piece, but also remains honest to skateboarding as a whole. Enjoy the full video above and be sure to leave thoughts below.
