The video’s theme reflects similar sentiments, reminding his contemporaries when times weren’t so great. Director Lawrence Lamont provides visuals that reenact the era of chattel slavery. J.Cole is depicted as a server, satisfying the needs of his master’s home with a group of brothers and sisters.
