Hands-On with the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition Updates

Following the highly anticipated reveal of the Apple Watch pricing and release date at Apple‘s “Spring Forward” event earlier, demonstrations with the real thing were also made available to press and guests. Thanks to The Verge, we’re able to see the Apple Watch in all its glory, getting a better idea of its functionality and usability. The crown is shown helping with scrolling and zooming, while several apps are tested, as well as the general user-friendliness of the interface.

The Verge also reports more information regarding the higher-priced Apple Watch iterations, more specifically the “Apple Watch Edition.” Retailing for a starting price of $10,000 USD, Apple reports that it will be available in “select limited retail stores.” To offer a higher class shopping experience for customers interested in purchasing a 5-figure piece of jewelry in the usually-bustling Apple stores, an in-house store will be introduced specifically for the Apple Watch. Also housing the lower-priced iterations of the product, which range between $3499 USD to $1,099 USD depending on configuration, Apple will open pre-orders and previews beginning April 10, with availability in stores April 24.
