“Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks” @ Brooklyn Museum

Brooklyn Museum will be hosting “Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks,” an exhibition that showcases the personal archives of the all-around creative force Jean-Michel Basquiat. Set to launch this spring, the exhibition will present the late artist’s personal notebooks and journals, the exhibition aims to offer insight behind the mind of the Neo-Expressionist artist, who broke through the New York art scene in the early ’80s. Viewers can expect to see previously unseen poems, early sketches and doodle drawings, as well as notes that laid the foundations of larger pieces of work and unfinished projects. The exhibition is sure to provoke dialogue about the artist’s thoughts and inspirations that contributed to his legacy. The exhibition opens April 3.
