For all his successes, one of the biggest chips on Kanye West‘s shoulder has historically been on the fashion end. In countless interviews, on social media, on stage – West has lamented his public dismissals, outwardly ruing opportunities in an institution that has denied him and amplified his mistakes. It makes sense then, that the artist’s collection for adidas Originals would feel as triumphant as it does. West unveiled his inaugural collection in New York City just yesterday, and the audience was fittingly robust: a summary of his friends, peers and a myriad more that have been influenced by his work thus far. From Rihanna to the Kardashian family, Pete Wentz to Anna Wintour in the front row, the spectators themselves seemed a spectacle in themselves. A special congratulations to Mr. West.
