Ace Hotel Hires Writers to Craft Letters to Guests

Catering to those looking for a unique experience during their stay,  Ace Hotel continues to find creative ways to accommodate its visitor. Its latest venture, sees the New York City Branch invite 12 writers from around the world to take part in a project titled “Dear Reader.” The hotel has tapped acclaimed fiction writer and journalist Alexander Chee, who will be selecting a writer each month throughout the course of the year to participate in this micro-residency. The writers will pen a letter — which is hand-stamped and numbered — to hotel guests on a surprise date and momentous annual occasions. While the writers can take on whatever tone of writing they choose, the only limitation is that the letter must only contain up to 400 words. The residence include Dale Peck, Kiese Laymon, Sigrid Nunez, Chinelo Okparanta and Atticus Lish. For more information visit the Ace Hotel website.
