After Part 1 of the production process of the wings+horns x ByBorre Space Suit where it was determined where each individual panel piece would fit, wings+horns’ Tung Vo began to sew the corresponding pieces together. Starting from the pant legs and moving onto the body, before ending in the helmet hood and gloves, Borre Akkersdijk tested the fit of each suit component to ensure fabric and fit consistency throughout. Once both Vo and Akkersdijk were satisfied, the various components were finally sewn together into one coherent piece, and the neck-to-knee-length asymmetrical zip fixed into place to hold it all together. To accompany the space suit, the duo enlisted the help of local leather craftsman Ken Diamond in creating a pair of space-age moccasins — a blend of futuristic and traditional Scandinavian and Canadian influences — to complete the ensemble. Working off sketches and a mock-up made of cabin fleece, the moccasin design was finalized with Diamond, who then put his leatherworking expertise into play.
