Following news of an upcoming film by Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel debuts a short feature titled “Reincarnation,” starring Pharrell and Cara Delevingne. Inspired by the story of Coco Chanel being influenced by the jacket worn by an Austrian elevator operator in the ’50s, the film shows Pharrell portraying a dapper elevator operator and a care-free Delevingne as Coco Chanel. Starting with a synth and string-heavy musical introduction complemented with Pharrell’s signature drum sequences, the film follows the young Delevingne through an upper-class hotel setting as the two enjoy a dance together in a moon-lit lobby to “CC The World,” an original musical number written and composed by Pharrell. The scene ends highlighting the significance of the jacket worn by Pharrell, the elevator operator.
