Original sportswear brand, Vans, has unveiled their latest weather proof collection of Mountain Edition footwear for holiday 2014. With an assortment of upgraded Vans Classics, Vans California and Vans Surf styles, the set of six is set to release this fall.
By utilizing aspects of weatherized product innovation on each classic silhouette, Vans has created a collection built to endure the elements. Through the incorporation of premium materials and Scotchgard™ treated uppers, the advanced designs are water repellent with a thermal heat retention layer applied to the outsole and beneath the sock-liner. Another desirable feature for the mountaineers among us is the collection’s re-designed waffle sole — reversed and raised to provide optimum grip in wet terrain.
The Vans Classics are outfitted in pig suede, leather and wool and come in eight warmly colored interpretations of the Era MTE, Sk8-Hi MTE and Old Skool MTE. The Sk8-Hi MTE is a woman-specific style featured in both black and tan with geometric knit accents. For the Vans California Collection, the Mid Skool MTE CA is constructed from a supple leather and nubuck upper detailed with hiking laces and metal eyelets, whilst the Old Skool MTE CA low-tops come equipped with waxed canvas panelling above the iconic side-stripe.
