The Blackberry Passport Has Sold 200,000 Units Since Launch

The headline of Blackberry selling 200,000 units of the Blackberry Passport is a drop in a bucket relative to the numbers Apple did with the iPhone 6 upon release. However it does signal that despite many people counting out Blackberry in the smartphone market, the Canadian brand seems to have reignited an interest in the brand. Defined by an unorthodox 4.5 inch square screen with Gorilla Glass, it of course includes the signature physical keyboard. New important features also include leading-in-class battery life, Blackberry World and Amazon Appstore access. The physical keyboard is something that despite a slew of great OEM and 3rd party keyboard options that exist, simply don’t trump the tactile feel many users crave. The phone is available now for $599 USD unlocked in the US.
