Filson has joined forces with Nigel Cabourn to produce a new line for 2014 fall/winter under the label C.C. Filson by Nigel Cabourn. The collection combines the attention to detail Filson has developed over its 117 years of history with Nigel Cabourn’s expertise in outerwear. We are presented with a selection of rugged jackets in color palettes of tan, olive and burgundy, which all incorporate inspirations from Filson’s jacket in the ’30s and executed with the label’s trademark, heavy-duty finish. Nigel Cabourn adds a touch of flair by utilising mismatched pockets found in a Japanese vintage shop along with details such as contrasting interiors and linings.
Filson’s newly appointed Creative Director, Alex Carleton, explained the collaboration with Nigel Cabourn, “The Filson brand was created out of the need to keep Klondike Gold Rush explorers alive, protecting them from the freezing Yukon winds while they sought treasure, so working with Nigel on an outerwear collaboration felt like the perfect partnership for this first line of its kind.”
