With his talents briefly showcased in Juno and alongside Weezer on their Hurley LP, Michael Cera is not only an accomplished actor, but something of a musician as well. With this in mind, the soft-spoken Canadian here surprises fans with a new solo album, dubbed true that. As expected, the album is an exercise in lo-fi songwriting, with songs such as “Moving In” or “What Gives (…I can’t live like this)” sounding a bit like the dizzy dog days of a somber summer.
