Nike Air Rift SP

Originally designed for Kenyan runners and meant to mimic the feel of running barefooted, 1995’s split-toe, Lycra-and-Velcro Air Rift has long been one of Nike‘s more niche running designs. Almost entirely absent from shelves in North America, the nearly two-decade-old silhouette has seen a bit of a comeback as of late thanks to Nike’s “Genealogy of Free” packs–releases that celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Nike Free Run and the predecessors that inspired it. Now, after appearing as a part of the NikeLab-exclusive black “Genealogy” pack, the unique runner is set to return yet again this August. This time, the Rift joins the newly-revealed LunarSpeed Mariah SP, appearing with a clean royal blue upper that’s juxtaposed with white branding accents and a black rubber outsole. Look for the limited edition Nike Air Rift SP to be available beginning this Thursday, August 7 exclusively from NikeLab.
