Gift Tags Galore (DIY Christmas Gift Tags and Christmas Cards)

I have a new obsession.  Gift Tags!

With the help of Jaime from Raising up Rubies, I now have endless inspirations to create cute, personalized accessories for all things GIFTS!
She’s truly amazing, and I’m only getting started, but I can only hope to be as creative as her!
Thanks Jaime! <3 check out her Etsy store here: Raising up Rubies

While sitting at home, watching Arthur Christmas with Blake and Bella (the dog), I decided i wanted to doodle…and so, doodle I did! And this is what I came up with. My
“Tis the Season to be Jolly” drawing was so random that I thought how funny and different would it be if I made these our Christmas cards this year! I’ve always enjoyed getting handmade things from people, so I thought it would be awesome to give a handmade Christmas card to all of our family and friends.  So, I went to our local Office Depot and got 70 colored copies of my drawing, and there ya have it! DIY Christmas Cards!
I found AMAZING Envelopes at Office Depot! They have a HUGE assortment of all different colors! I couldn’t get enough of the Gartner Envelope line!

anddddd…..Here’s the story of my first Gift Tag making experience this Christmas

Once upon a time, there were
Materials:
Plain Tags
Washi Tape
Baker’s Twine
Scissors
Stamps (if desired)
Paper Clips
Scissors
I stamped on the To and From on one side and the Handmade with Love on the other.  I found these at a local stamp store “Art N Soul” in Lacey, WA!

And then, came the awesome Baker’s Twine! OBSESSED!!!!
Blake caught me in the craziness of cutting WASHI TAPE. My second obsession!!!

And there ya have it….7 hours later! and 65 gift tags later!
…. No, I’m really not exaggerating!
So then I cut some pieces of ribbons and tied them to the ends of paper clips to create cute ways to attach my notes to the tags!

Yes Amy, believe it….you’re finally done! (I didn’t think those 7 hours would end….so I may have marveled over the fact that my little hands created 65 gift tags and 65 cute little paper clips to go with them!) ….and yes, I wore cute Christmas pajamas while making them….Don’t judge.
Thanks Blakers for catching this moment
So, to go along with my “Tis the Season to be Jolly” Christmas cards…..I came up with this “clever” yet super dorky little poem!…Ready for it?…
“This handmade Gift Tag
is just for you,
May it bring you
Blessings and Jolly too!”
Clearly I’m addicted to Jolly this season (and washi tape and baker’s twine)

65 LATER!!!! AHHHHHHH THE END IS IN SIGHT!!!!

Can’t wait for all of my family and friends to receive them!!!!!

And then came the fun part, LABELING ALL OF THE ENVELOPES….not!
Thanks Mandy @ This Girl’s Life for this adorable idea on addressing the envelopes!
(Don’t worry, that’s not Hope’s address)
I used cute scotch packaging tape on the backs of all the envelopes to add a little glam to the envelopes as well!

READY FOR DELIVERY!!!! (with my address book and all)

And so, there it is. My easy DIY Christmas Cards and Gift Tags.
I hope that everyone can use their gift tags to give a gift to someone special in their lives.  Because all of you are special to me…so this is my JOLLY gift to you.
God Bless and have a Jolly ole Christmas!
The End!
xx, ALF
