Spanish graphic designer Pol Pintó’s project, A-creixement is a comment on the recent economic crisis in Europe, and more specifically Spain, has undergone in recent years. Pol’s project seeks to question consumer capitalism and its sustainability through typographic posters that focus on the distribution of wealth and food wastage in Spain, among other things. Pol’s typographic approach is simple and clear, and his ideas become more digestible as they’re free from a deluge of images and graphics. Statistics are simply set out and practical information for meetings provides the opportunity to find out more without preaching. With clusters of letters, varying sizes and a large inverted ‘A’ as a recurring motif throughout the series, it’s when the posters are pasted up on texture-laden concrete walls that their impact can be fully appreciated.
