When we last left the very talented Tom Johnson, the photographer was busy bringing together the different aspects of his practice, from portraits to documentary-style projects. He’s now adding editorial to his ever-growing roster and this new shoot for PYLOT – which you might remember as the all-analogue photography magazine that eschews retouching – shows his beautiful portraiture skills are perfectly suited to the job. In a spirited, flaxen-hued series shot out in the countryside, Tom captures a fresh-faced sixteen-year-old who was scouted just before he was about to join the army.
