Park Hotel Belfiore has recently opened the new themed suites dedicated to ten historical Italian icons. The Ten characters were identified by architects Alberto Apostoli after trying on several fronts the true popularity and recognizability of these illustrious Italians of all ages; characters had to imply, however, readable and clear chance to draw a space around their famous icon. And so, a bit for fun and a bit scientifically, the chosen characters were Roman Gaius Julius Caesar, the great poet Dante Alighieri, the Venetian Marco Polo and Giacomo Casanova, the great explorer from Genoa Cristoforo Colombo, the Italian director by definition Federico Fellini, tenor Luciano Pavarotti, the étoile Carla Fracci, the absolute genius Leonardo Da Vinci and cars constructor Enzo Ferrari.

Architect Apostoli stated: “the effort was certainly not to fall into trivialization or make too banal references. We worked hard to translate the spirit of each character without excess or simplifications, through a sober and measured design and a studied use of surfaces, colors and materials.” Important elements of customization are, in fact, the vertical surfaces resolved through special paper, printed images on PVC and specifically created materials. An extensive research was done to find specific objects (mirrors, suitcases, statuettes, books, etc.) to complete the furnishings. [Photos and information provided via e-mail by Alberto Apostoli]
