Sprawling Modern Oceanfront Oasis In Lebanon

Spend enough time at the Amchit Residence in Nahr el Mott, Lebanon and you just might find yourself pondering exactly where land meets sea. Constructed of minimalist steel slabs enclosed by glass and wooden decking, this sprawling three-level oceanfront oasis designed by BLANKPAGE Architects is meant for entertaining.

Lush natural foliage and a landscape full of citrus, olive and sea-salted palm trees surround the 430-square-meter cliffside property. The soothing, minimalist palette seen on the home’s exterior is influenced by the natural hues of sand and sea. Soft, neutral-hued furniture and textiles highlight the wood paneled ceilings and steel beams.

The only pop of color in the open living area, kitchen and dining space is found in the mod turquoise dining chairs that bank an expansive rectangular dining table, long enough to seat a party of 20 or more people. A handful of chrome-finish pendant lights hover above the place settings.

Floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows provide a panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea’s horizon, and a skylight from the floating third level allows even more light to flood in during the day and provides a seamless view of the night sky when the sun retreats to the moon.

Outdoor bridges and stairwells connect the lower levels and access to the private beach below. A quick jaunt up a similar staircase leads to the rooftop deck, lap pool and master bedroom.

Nothing can top the serene, oceanfront views of the master bedroom. (Seriously, who wouldn’t want to wake up to this every day?) A colossal California king bed covered in plush textiles in gradient shades of cobalt and sky blue mimic the natural surroundings. Solid panes of glass provide unobstructed panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and a one can enjoy the view and a cup of coffee outdoors on the private wrap-around balcony.

The boardwalk-inspired outdoor patio boasts 180 degree views of the Lebanon coastline. Chic lounge furniture adorns the deck for sunset cocktail parties and late night entertaining. Wooden decking continues to carry on from the interior to withstand the natural elements and wear with grace over time.
