Waverley Street House by Klopper & Davis Architects is a striking architecture conversion from a small bungalow into a contemporary family home in Perth, Australia. According to the developers, the overall design takes advantage of the project’s location “on a laneway to re-orient access and casual urban interaction towards this lane. This includes moving the front door around the house and off the lane, and providing a broad open window to the lane encouraging interaction with the neighborhood.” The masonry existing home was visually enhanced and complemented by Pacific Teak timber cladding both internally and externally.
Spacious and welcoming, the interiors are flooded in natural light from the extensive glazing. Color is one of the key elements of the decorating scheme, livening up every room. The master bedroom and office suite on the first floor directly connect with the downstairs via the void over the lounge and create an interconnected living space. Views to a park have been designed into the seated position of the office to provide relaxation for the inhabitants during working periods. Enjoy the virtual tour and let us know what you think!
