A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Practical Special Effects of ‘Spectre’

Most movies rely heavily on computer graphics these days to produce their death-defying stunts, explosions and action sequences. Director Sam Mendes of the upcoming Bond flick Spectre believes it should be done the old-fashioned way of using practical techniques. While this method is one that ultimately costs more money and time than were it done with a few hundred computers in a lab somewhere, the audience certainly appreciates the authenticity and raw nature of actual stunts. Mendes further explains the sequences in further detail in both Mexico and Morocco that hopefully provides “a visceral excitement” that CGI just can’t accomplish. Check out the behind-the-scenes footage above and prepare for Spectre when it hits theaters November 5.
