As saturated as the footwear market is, there are still some up and coming brands that prove they have what it takes to run with the big names. In comes AKIO, a new label with its debut silhouette dropping next month named “Orion.” Already, the shoe is making waves on the internet for its undeniably clean style, which blends traditional and urban design elements with rugged attributes. Not only does the shoe look fresh it is also extremely functional, with an upper comprised of water-repellent Scotchguard tape. Different iterations include uppers comprised of nubuck, soft-shell polyurethane, Melton wool or tumbled leather. Dropping August 15, the “Orion” will be on sale exclusively at KITH for the first two weeks, before releasing on its own site.
