Jordan Brand Officially Unveils the MTM Pack

Last month, the sneaker community was, for a moment, intertwined with American politics. President Barack Obama visited Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton to speak on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, an agreement that hopes to open up domestic supply chains and improve stateside manufacturing. A juicy bit for sneakerheads included the purported one-off custom Air Jordan I and Jordan XX9. As it turns out, these releases represented the inaugural rollout of the MTM Pack – a special three-way collaboration between Michael Jordan, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker. Nike here surprises audiences by officially announcing the public release of the MTM Pack: comprised of cleverly reworked versions of the AJI and Jordan XX9.

The most obvious distinction of the pack are the flipped materials; the Air Jordan I is here outfitted with a breathable one-piece Flyweave upper, which is specially crafted to iterate the iconic toebox and paneling of the original. Elsewhere, the Jordan XX9 ditches Flyweave in favor of a supple leather upper, still retaining the FlightPlate technology that made its name on-the-court. Interested parties can raffle for either of these versions at the P75 Paris NikeLab location beginning June 13, with deliveries coming to other NikeLab doors in the near future.
