Apple is Letting You Trade in Your Old Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone for a New iPhone

Apple is reportedly set to start accepting trade-ins of old Android, BlackBerry or Windows Phone devices for new iPhones. The new Reuse and Recycling Program is said to begin on Monday in-stores and online, and will give credit in the form of an Apple Store gift card or bank transfer to those customers who trade in eligible models. The credit can be applied towards a variety of devices including the iPhone 5c, 6 or 6 Plus, but not the Apple Watch. While Apple hasn’t issued a formal announcement, 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman is said to have spotted the announcement on an Apple retail store page. This gives customers even less of a reason to turn to a carrier store or chain like Best Buy when shopping for a new device, and will surely just positively impact in-store iPhone sales for Apple. Stay tuned for more information on this as it becomes available.
